There is an ongoing request for consensus regarding the administration of administrator elections. While a few questions are still open, many others have already been closed by Giraffer.

Previous administrator elections have had monitors who could remove personal attacks. However, in the previous election, monitors removed questions for being inappropriate rather than strictly personal attacks. There is now "consensus that blatantly inappropriate questions may be curated" by a monitor after they are posed to a candidate. Support for the status quo was maintained for all other issues raised in this discussion.

On August 4, discussion on whether to change the requirements for users to obtain the WP:AUTOCONFIRM and WP:EXTENDED confirmed status was closed by Mz7. The discussion involved 163 comments from 74 people. Consensus was for no change except that counters should start from a user's first edit rather than when their account is created. The closer noted a general lack of evidence to support any change to status quo.

Sohom Datta is currently one of our interface administrators, author of SodiumBot, a member of the Product and Technology Advisory Council, Toolforge standards committee, and the Unsupported Tools Working Group. On August 2, 2026 he wrote this request for WMF CEO Bernadette Meehan to resign. The conflict stems from the board's handling of an attempt by some WMF staff to unionize. More than 200 people have participated in the subsequent discussion with many voices supporting Datta's request. Meehan, Jimbo, and Lorenzo Losa have stated that they want to listen to the community, all the staff, cooperate, and follow all applicable law. Communication Workers of America plans to participate in a National Labor Relations Board facilitated election for which the results will be determined on September 3.

The speedy deletion criteria was amended to delete "Unambiguously LLM-generated pages". Levivich closed the discussion while noting some ambiguity in the consensus on how code contributions like Lua, Javascript, and templates will be treated. This amendment introduced additional technical indicators for what constitutes unambiguous LLM output.

A village pump RFC was closed by Barkeep49, with consensus to restructure This week's article for improvement and add it to the Main Page. With 89 participants, this is a relatively local consensus in comparison to the overall visibility of the page. While consensus was reached for the overall proposal, certain aspects of how to implement this did not get a clear consensus. TWAFI briefly made an appearance on the main page on May 10, 2013, but was quickly pulled.
